"AOL Instant Messenger"
| SubProfile - I have yet to find a service with more features for advancing your profile, and that's also free. It's a great
way to spice up your profile, but there are a lot of popup ads on the site, and you have to subscribe to a newsletter. It's
worth it though, like a mini-website of your own. |
Buddy4U - If you're looking for a more custom-made, simpler way to enhance your profile, this service is exceptional, free,
and has a minimum of pop up ads. There are also no hidden strings attached either. |
AIM News - If you're really obsessed over AIM, you can find a lot of information and toys here that go with the program.
Its a broad site with downloads, an AIM Expression creator, and more. It doesn't seem to have a lot of hits, but its updated
frequently. |
Buddy Seen - I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented on AIM yet (neither is AIM News). If you need to leave a message for
a buddy who doesn't check their email often, visit this site, fill in the information, and you can leave a message for a buddy
whether they're offline or not. |
Extreme Messenger - For enhancing AIM, this downloadable service can make AIM easier to use, easier to organize, and look better.
I tried it out and it is a trial version. It had a lot of nifty options, but its ad window cut off my buddy list some. |
"AIM Buddy Icons"
| BadAss Buddy - Some people like to stand out and these icons are perfect for them. Most are pretty offensive, with categories
such as Naughty and Violent, while others might fit you perfectly, like Girly, Pride, and Sports. There's only a bit over
1,200 icons, but a lot are very funny and unique. |
Dragid - If you're an anime fan, these icons are what you're looking for. It has 75 categories of popular anime, anime
that has yet to reach US TV, video games, comics, and some movies. |
Rollin Buddy Icons - I'm personally not a car fan, but if you are and you're trying to find an icon of the perfect car, check out
this site. There's a lot of categories of different cars with good photos of classic, hot, and not-so-hot autos. |
Music Buddy Icons - You have to check this out to believe it! These icons play clips of music from popular songs. The site isn't
very big yet, but it has a good collection and is worth checking out. The sounds don't work, but the songs do, and the quality
is pretty decent. Check it out! |
"American Indian Movement"
| AIM Home Page - Are you of Native American blood, or interested in the civil rights of Indians today? The American Indian Movement
provides the latest information on issues concerning American Indians today. A very informative and entertaining site. |
AIM Media Webcast - If you don't feel like reading or would like to listen to AIM while doing things around the house or at work,
check their webcast. They have a broad way to experience the webcast, from radio to TV, but you need to have Quicktime. Broadcast
includes interviews, commentaries, music and more. |
AIM's Store - You can show your AIM support with provide. The store hosts products from shirts, posters, pins and patches,
as well as media. The shirts are very colorful with powerful messages, and the rest of the products seem to be of good quality.
Mail order is also available. |
"Accuracy in Media"
| AIM - Home - Accuracy in Media is the home site for the organization that watches newspapers, news shows, and other media
for fairness, balance and accuracy. It claims to be unbiased and unpartisan, which does show in a fair sense. Advertisements
is to a minimum and the site is updated weekly. |
AIM - Archive - Search AIM's Archive by dates, publication, and by keyword. The search feature is reliable and easy to use. |
AIM - Internship and Volunteering - Want to help AIM actively? Want to write and make a difference in watching the media? AIM's internships may pay
low, but you can stay home and receive flexible hours. |
