U2 Fact: It was 1976 in Dublin when Larry Mullen, Jr. posted a note on a school bulletin board looking for musicians to join a band. The respondents included Paul Hewson (Bono), Dave Evans (The Edge), and Adam Clayton. They became Feedback and then the Hype, until 1978 when the four boys took on the name U2.
